Curse My Jaw

So a few years ago I started to have popping and clicking in my jaw. I stopped chewing gum and just dealt with it. Then one day last summer I was eating some corn on the cob and when I bit down my jaw locked shut! I couldn't open it for a few hours and was panicking a little. It finally opened slowly but my jaw muscles were extremely sore! I took Ibproferen for probably 6 months and just put up with the pain before it got so bad that I finally when in to the dentist and asked for some help! Little did I know I would be starting a long adventure that includes shocking and retainers and lots of liquid food!

The frist step we did was figure out what my jaw was doing. They hooked me up like a crazy science experiment and saw where my bite was etc...

That little thing around my neck shocks my muscles to help them go in the right place instead of the habit place that is making my jaw hurt.

Once they got my jaw where they wanted it they made me a little device called and Orthodic. I just call it a retainer because it needs less explanation. I was so excited to get it because it meant my jaw would start feeling better. Little did I realize, it would get worse before it got better. My teeth and mouth hurt very bad from wearing the orthodic for the first week. Now I am more comfortable but it is still really hard to chew anything and its very unattractive when food gets inside of it. Not pretty! So if you are talking to me and I spit all over you or you hear my hilarious lisp, you will know, its just my orthodic taking over my mouth!
