William 5 Months

William is now 5 months old! I can't believe how fast time is going!

2 days shy of 5 months old Wil finally rolled from his back to his front! Sneaky little bugger did it the first time when I wasn't watching but he quickly did it again and I caught it on tape. Now he is a wiz at it! Bring on the difficult diaper changes!

We decided we would stop swaddling him during his nap time and this is how he slept his entire nap. Kids likes his arms out :)

We solved our wiggly bath problems with 2 inches of water. We just lay him on his back and he loves that he can kick and move all he wants!

Fed him a lemon and it was basically hilarious! I am horrible but it is so entertaining!

Eating a lemon (his face at the very end is the best)

He has found that his voice can make different sounds. His favorites this last month were gasping and growling. If you didn't know this better you would think something was wrong with him. He talks so much when he is at home and in his comfort zone but when we go somewhere new he is all eyes! Silent and just taking in everything.

We have time every night where he giggles like crazy! It is probably my favorite time of the day!

He loves watching me or anyone for that matter UNLESS...there is football on TV. There is something about all the movement and contrast of the screen that glues his eyes to it! Russ likes to think he just was born loving the game. ;)

He poops about every week and only when we sit him in the bumbo chair! :)

We are having a blast!!!

Fall update

We have had a very enjoyable fall season!

We spent lots of time sitting outside in the wonderful weather

We went on lots of walks!

Found some sweet shades (We didn't buy them)

Had a very fun family Halloween party

 Russell turned 24!
We celebrated his bday with a few of his friends going bowling and eating ice cream! :)

We had to say goodbye to Russell's mother. :( Such a bitter sweet thing! We are so happy she is in a better place. And we will miss her very much!

We had a fabulous Thanksgiving with both of our families and I completely spaced taking any pictures! I know, shame on me!
 We went Black Friday shopping!

Then we celebrated my Daddy's bday at Iggy's!

My sister was in town and listened to be complain about no more crumb donettes after hearing about Hostess closing. So she found me some at the gas station! :)

It has been a very fun fall season and I am very much looking forward to the holidays! Already set up for Christmas and everything!

Alison Shawcroft

Russell's sweet mother has been fighting brain cancer for a long 4 years! She peacefully passed away surrounded by family on November 11th 2012. It was very peaceful and we all are blessed knowing she is no longer in pain! We will miss her dearly but are glad she no longer has to fight her hard battle.

Alison Tuckett Shawcroft

Obituary

1960 ~ 2012
Alison Tuckett Shawcroft, our beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, passed peacefully through the veil of mortality into the loving outstretched arms of her Heavenly Father on November 11, 2012 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Alison was born June 15, 1960. As the first of four daughters, she was the exemplary 'leadoff hitter" to her kind and loving parents, Glen and Jo Tuckett. Growing up in her charmed Provo neighborhood, she was surrounded and greatly influenced by friends, neighbors, and family of faith and integrity. Alison loved life and readily and easily made countless friends. At BYU, she met Gene, her eternal best friend. They were married and sealed on August 13, 1981 in the Salt Lake Temple. Alison and Gene raised their four children in West Jordan among wonderful people. Beginning in July 2004, Alison spent three enjoyable years in Brazil where she and Gene presided over the Brazil Campinas Mission. Upon their return from Brazil, they settled in the Provo Edgemont area where she grew up.
Alison served faithfully in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the youth of the church and served in many Primary and Young Women callings. Primary chorister was her favorite. For the last several months, she cherished serving in the Provo Temple working with the children waiting to be sealed to their parents. Her love for and testimony of the Savior and His Gospel guided her life. She leaves a legacy of faith, love, kindness, hard work, and determination. Alison lived the challenge she often left with her children, their friends, and her missionaries: be good, be wise, be wonderful.
Alison loved to knit, and gave away thousands of her knitted dish cloths to friends, missionary mothers, newlyweds, and anyone who seemed interested in her talent. Alison kept her hands busy knitting while riding in the car, while watching children's sporting events, or while sitting for more than a couple of minutes. While knitting the world was on hold until she reached a stopping point which was the end of a row. She now has reached, in a victorious way, the end of her earthly row.
She will be missed by everyone, including more than 400 missionaries who, for two years, had a loving second Mother. Her influence will be felt throughout the world for generations.
She is survived by her parents Glen and Jo Tuckett, husband Gene, sisters Shannon, St. George; Kendall, Arizona; Erin Mooring (Jeremy), St. George; children Cameron (Crystal), West Jordan; Lindsay, Salt Lake City; Russell (Lizzy), Provo; Nelson, Brazil Manaus Mission, and three energetic grandchildren Maliyah, Sawyer, and William.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 16, at 11:00 a.m. at the Edgemont Stake Center, 303 West 3700 North Provo. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Thursday evening from 6 until 8 and at the stake center Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Condolences may be emailed to info@bergmortuary.com.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Huntsman Cancer Institute or to the Temple Patrons Assistance Fund.

William 4 months

Weight on 10-30-2012: 17.84 Pounds 89.69 percentile
Length on 10-30-2012: 27.1 inches 99.02 percentile
Head on 10-30-2012: 16.77 inches 78.1 percentile

He sure is a chunk but I love him to death. The thing I hear the most when I am in public is "How old is he?! Only 4 months!?" Yes he is only 4 months, not 6 like he looks. No he is not slow at meeting milestones. He can't sit on his own because most 4 month old babies can not do that :) I find it quite entertaining. No offense taken here :)

At 4 months old William is doing SO SO SOOOO many things. Here is the list

Finds his voice- even at 4AM. (Just talks in bed, doesn't cry)

Laughing back at me when I laugh at/with him
Much happier in the sitting position rather than laying down

Still loves his binki but finding his his two middle fingers and thumb more.

Loves chewing on his one pointer finger

Rubs his eyes when he is tired. (probably my favorite thing ever!)

LOVES sticking his tongue out

Loves kicking in the bath (he is crazy wild in his bath chair, I need to figure out another way to bathe him)
Getting very good at laughing

He gets VERY frustrated when he can't fit toys inside his mouth.
Wants to be held or talked to all the time
He loves watching his mama no matter if she is cleaning, cooking or talking.

He tried rice cereal, sweet potatoes, carrots and bananas. Loves them all! He loves to eat and will eat as long as I keep feeding him :) Love my chub!

Wil's Nursery

I am proud of this room! I had so much fun! It is so rewarding to design a room on a tiny budget! There are more pictures here and where I got everything! I hope you like it as much as I do!

William's 2 month Check up!

This little chunk is huge!
At his two month check up he is
Length: 25 inches 99.7th percentile
Weight: 14.4 lb. (the nurse entered the wrong weight so I don't know the percentile)
Head Circumference: 16 inches 89th Percentile
He rolled from his tummy to his back at 5 weeks old and does it regularly at each tummy time session
He sleeps anywhere from 8-10 hours straight at night! I am a lucky mamma!
He only takes naps while I am holding him, not a fan of that. Trying to teach him to sleep in his crib other than at night.
I am reading Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child by Marc Weissbluth, M.D. and I am liking it a lot! It's helping me understand what he needs in the sleep department.
Wil is finding his hands and loving to suck on them!
He is currently wearing 6 month size onsies because he is so tall, the smaller sizes wont snap over his diaper.
I love my little chunk!

End of Summer 2012

Here are a few pictures of our summer! Most of them are instagram pictures so I apologize if someone of you are seeing repeats of the pictures.

I love my chubby Asian baby!

He LOVES ceiling fans! It is so fun to watch him light up when he finally notices it!

One day Wil was rather upset with me because we had been running so many errands. He was sick of his hot carseat and was so hungry! I took this picture and the fed him!
This picture was taken about 20 mins later! Much happier with me! ;)

Again, happy Asian baby!
We spent lots of days at the swimming pool! He was a champ!

On one of the last days we went swimming I decided I would stick him in the water to see what his reaction would be.
This is me being immature and giving him a plumbers crack! :)

He was NOT happy with the water.
Or me giving him a big giant smooch
I don't think he liked the sun in his face either!
It's ok buddy, next summer you will absolutely love the swimming pool!

This is Russ making him dance! He loves his legs wiggled!

I had to say goodbye to one of my very best friends Jen this month! :( She moved to Texas so her Husband can get a grown up job! I love you and miss you Jenny!

Hanging out with cousin Sawyer and Grandpa Shawcroft

My aunt Sheri introduced me to Zulily and it is so wonderful it's dangerous! I spend way too much time on it! If you have kids or are pregnant they have great deals!

We got to babysit the Smith girls over the weekend and it was so fun! It is defiantly an adjustment going from a mom of one to a mom of 3! It was a blast though! And the girls just love him! It helps that their baby brother is only 9 days younger then Wil so they are used to the newborn thing! We had a blast!

This is Russ talking to Wil! He is seriously such a happy kid!

Russell and I got to go to the first BYU Game! It was a lot of fun!

This is the ONLY way he will take a good nap! It is starting to drive me CRAZY! I love the cozy time I get but I am starting to need some more freedom through out the day! Time to teach him to sleep in his crib!

I saved my pennies and bought myself a Vitamix blender! I am in love with it! My mom has one and so I was very set on getting a VitaMix and not a cheapo blender! Now I get to do lots of yummy green smoothies! I'm in heaven!
